March 21, 1945 - Correspondence from GT Wallace
"Somewhere in England
Dear Uncle Lee:
Have been trying to get around to writing to you so here goes.
Mother tells me you are now living across the street from the place you sold in Handby. Hope you find it very comfortable.
Emagine you heard about my accident or I should say: being slightly wounded in action. Am fully recovered now and feel fine.
What do you think about Mother's new place? Really anxious to see it myself. Hope that day isn't too far off.
Closing now with the wish that this short note finds you enjoying the best of health.
Regards,
GT"

November 19, 1945 - Letter from June Wallace to GT Wallace (Envelope)

I received your letter a few days ago and was happy to hear from you after so long a time.
I heard on the radio last night that all men with 60 points or more would be home for Christmas. That sounds good doesn't it? We expect MJ to hit the states about Wednesday or Thursday. We hoped he would be here for Thanksgiving, but guess not. We celebrate Thanksgiving on the 22nd.

Jack, the baby, & I went to Lindale Saturday to see about Moga. I think its a shame that poor Moga has to stay down there. Uncle Sid really needs a strong man to take care of him. I think in time he will have to be put in an institution. He can't walk hardly without falling down; and he can't remember
anything. He ask Sammy which one of the boys he was. I doubt if he would know you.
You ask about our phone. We haven't had phone since we have lived here, but we are to get one today or tomorrow. I will send you the number as soon as we get it. In case you should reach the states before you get the number why the phone will be listed under Jack R. Wallace, Jr. at 509 Pauline St. Hope you will call us in the
near future.
I think Reece & Jean have gone back together. I still don't understand the situation. Jack received a wire that said "Lost in love twice, might write later." Then when we got a letter everything seemed to be okay. Jean never did answer my letter.
Mrs. Shines boy, Bobbie, came in last Saturday. he had been with the 32nd Division on Luzon. He went through all the awful fighting without a scratch. Wasn't
