You might ask yourself how many pictures can one person take of helicopter in one sitting...clearly the answer is 117...although they are not even all loaded here. I was just fascinated today by these helicopters flying in and out of the reservoir to capture water to pour on the fires. You will certainly not hurt my feelings if you don't look at them all.
This is the first full day of air support for the OC because the Santa Ana winds have died down. The unfortunate thing about that is that it reach the mid 90's today and the rained ashes all day. The air quality was horrible.
We also received assistance from the LAFD. It was really exciting and had I been a more committed photographer...LOL...I would have stopped on the side of the freeway to take pictures of the 20 or so fire engines barreling down the freeway to provide assistance to our firefighters. It was a sight to behold, almost like, "The Calvary is Here!"
Amelia and I had a ball watching these big birds. She was so funny because afterwards she wanted to call everyone she knew to tell them about the two big helicopters and the one little helicopter and how they were getting water to dump on the fires. She then would tell people that she waved at them and yelled, "Hooray, FIrefighters!" I agree!
