july 24, 2007 our trip to chicago

Today, we are off to Chicago to visit the cousins (Brighton, Hayden & Landon), Auntie Shelley, Uncle Brad, Gigi & P-Pops as well as other extended family. Amelia and I are so excited to be reunited with our family since we only get to see them around twice a year. This trip will be really a lot of fun because it will be the first time that Amelia will really remember and be able to comprehend everything as a little person.

She is so excited to fly on an airplane and keeps telling everyone that she will need to flap her arms thanks to John B at church. He told her that she had to do that to help the plane get off the ground. But more importantly, when you ask her who she is going to see, her eyes light up and she says in the softest little whisper, "Brighton, Landon, Hayden."

Landon loves having his photo taken. It was so funny because he was so excited that I couldn't get close enough to him to take the photo. This was an example of how he moved out of frame while I was trying to take the photo. <br /> <br /> I really like this photo and don't think that I could have done it better if I had posed it.

  • Too much of a Good Thing!<br /> <br /> Amelia really wanted to read her books today during her rest time, but she was just too tired to make it through a single book. I love the fact that her "friends" are surrounding her as if to protect her during her nap. She slept like this for 3 hours.
  • We finally made it onto the plane and she decided to take out her new Mickey Mouse coloring book.

  • Amelia was so cute because she kept digging through her pencil box to find the "eraser." I told her that she did not have an eraser, but she was confident that she had an eraser. She pulled out the white crayon and said, "See Mommy...Eraser!"

  • When Amelia finally arrived at the house, Landon was one of the first boys to greet her. He wanted to show her all his toys. Here they pulled out Landon's cars and played nicely together for about two hours. Bedtime was 10:00 PM
  • Peace<br /> <br /> Hayden and Brighton were very excited not only to have Amelia here, but also to have their picture taken. <br /> <br /> I was told that Hayden was upset because I had posted Brighton & Landon on the photo of the day, but he wasn't in the photo. So I think he was the most motivated to have his photo taken.
