july 30, 2007 lincoln park zoo
Today we all piled into two cars and drove to downtown Chicago to go to the Lincoln Park Zoo. I have to say that I am really impressed with this zoo. Not only are the exhibits really nice, but it is a free zoo.
We had a great time looking at all the animals and playing in the indoor playground (which was probably the nicest part since it was really hot and humid today and the playground was air conditioned). The kids had a great time looking at the animals. The tigers were especially active today and were roaring at each other.
I think that my personal favorite at this zoo was their Gorilla exhibit. I liked the fact that you could be on the opposite side of the glass from them and really be face to face. This made for some really great picture taking moments.
The landscaping was amazing here and of course it was fun trying to capture the photographs of the butterflies.
Amelia and Landon really liked hanging out with P. Pops. They had a wonderful time as you can see from the photos.
After the zoo we went to a famous Chicago restaurant called the Chicago Pizza and Oven Grinder, the Mediterranean Bread was out of this world.
